24 Years of Trying, Failing,Testing, and Finding What Works.
Everything here comes from lived experience, real science, and the lessons I learned the hard way.
This site is my way of sharing what's worked, what the research says, and what I'm still learning. It's a place where you can share your story too—because your experience might be exactly what someone else needs to hear.

A Habits That Change Everything
What I've Learned

01
Clear Ectopic Fat
High-fat meals (over ~15% fat) can block glucose uptake through the Randle cycle. I’ve seen it repeatedly—blood sugar goes up, crashes down, and rides the roller coaster.

03
Build Community
I'm still learning. You're still learning. When we share what works (and what doesn't), we all get better.

02
Reduce Volatility
The real enemy isn't high blood sugar or low blood sugar—it's the rollercoaster. Stability matters more than perfection.

Who I Am
24 Years Living with Type 1 Diabetes
I'm Taylor Long. I've lived with Type 1 diabetes since I was 23 years old—today 47.
I’ve been at this for 24 years. And when I look back at the numbers, it hits me just how much time, attention, and sheer effort living with Type 1 really takes.

From age 23 to 33, I tested my blood sugar around 8 times a day. That’s:
Since age 33, I’ve worn a continuous glucose monitor. I’m 47 now. That’s 14 years of checking my numbers every single hour — roughly:
Every day, on average, I’ve taken 2–3 bolus shots and 1 basal shot. Over 24 years, that comes out to roughly:
It’s not a crash course — it’s a clarity course
Science-backed. Habit-focused. Life-transforming.

Why This Matters Now
Stem cell treatments for diabetes are real. People are insulin-free. This isn't science fiction anymore—it's happening.
But those new beta cells need a healthy environment to survive. The same stress, inflammation, and metabolic dysfunction that contributed to diabetes in the first place will destroy them.
I can't promise that building a healthier metabolic environment guarantees future treatment success. But I can tell you: every intervention I share here reduces beta-cell stress, lowers inflammation, and improves insulin sensitivity.
This is the environment I wish I'd built 24 years ago. And it's what I'm building now—for better health today and better outcomes tomorrow.
